Thomas Wang

Thomas Wang specializes in architectural design and computational design with a passion for placemaking that not only resonates with their environment, but also contributes to sustainable living through leveraging technology and design.

Thomas also has a strong interest in biomimetic materials and has performed vast research in their current use along with technologies, as well as experimented with his properties to envision future implementations of biomaterials.

Thomas’ recent academic project, Limits of Nature, envisions a speculative environment where crystals and other biomaterials become the primary building material. Through heavy scientific research, crystal-grown models, and experiments of different biomaterials, Thomas dissects and questions the properties of biomaterial and its potential to substitute the currently more environmentally detrimental materials such as concrete.

He is currently working part-time as a Design Assistant for WE-DESIGNS, and is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California (USC) and is currently a MSAAD student at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP).
